TIMELINE & TIPS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS:

August Register to retake the ACT and SAT if scores were lower than desired www.actstudents.org or www.collegeboard.com
September/October

Plan your college visitations.

Submit Transcript Request Form to Dean's office for a copy of your unofficial Academy transcript and review with your parents. 

Register to retake the ACT and SAT if scores were lower than desired.

October

Touch base with the Dean's office regarding the dates and times colleges/university representatives will be visiting the Academy.

There are also numerous college fairs and open houses during the fall. Check the dates, times, and locations of these events.

November Prepare your college admissions application and submit prior to Thanksgiving.
December Research scholarship opportunities
January Happy New Year! You and you parents will need to assemble information to file your state and federal taxes. You personal tax information is need to file your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). After completing your tax forms visit http://www.fafsa.ed.gov to file for financial aid.
February Keep track of your college applications. Ensure that all of you financial and college applications have been submitted and are complete. Review your Student Aid Report (SAR) to make sure your information is correct.
March

College letter decisions begin arriving. Continue researching and applying for scholarships. 

April

Finalize your decision regarding you college of choice.

Continue researching and applying for scholarships.

May

Mail graduation announcements two weeks prior to Graduation Ceremony.

Continue researching and applying for scholarships.

June

Send Thank You notes to everyone who helped you this year.

Send request to Dean's office for your a Official Final Transcript to be sent to your college.
