Student Government

The purpose of the Student Government Association is to model good citizenship both within and outside the school, to promote school spirit, to provide a forum for the discussion of school issues, and to act as a liaison between students, the faculty, and school administrators. A President, Vice-President, Secretary,Treasurer and two representatives from each grade are elected by the student body from grades

9 through 12.

Each grade also has its own branch of government including the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Participation in Student Government affords students the opportunity to practice leadership, diplomacy, oral and written communication. In this organization, students learn to look beyond themselves to topics that effect the school as a whole. Effective leaders recognize the value of hard work and the benefits of perseverance.

The organization represents the whole school and its members agree to uphold the "Responsibilities of the Community"

  • Respect for and trust in oneself, the school, and each other
  • Responsibility for person and academic excellence
  • Awareness and appreciation of differences
  • Honesty in speech and action
  • Promotion and practice of camaraderie
